Timeframe and Never public

Label a strategy with the chart timeframe it trades on, and keep one private for good with Never public.

Two settings sit under Description when you create a strategy, and again when you edit one.

Timeframe

Timeframe is the chart timeframe your strategy trades on. It's optional.

Choose one of:

1m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 1D, 1W or Mixed

Pick Mixed for a strategy that reads more than one timeframe. Leave it on Not set and no chip shows.

The timeframe appears as a chip beside the asset type, so a stock strategy on the daily chart reads Stocks · 1D. You see it in the header of the strategy page and in lists of strategies.

It is a label. It doesn't change how alerts are read or how orders are placed.

Never public

Never public keeps a strategy private for good. Turn it on and:

  • Access is set to Private.
  • Public and Premium can't be chosen. The Who can copy it step says Never public is on.
  • The strategy carries a Never public badge in your lists.

Use it for a strategy you run only for yourself.

Turn it off

Open the strategy and select Edit.
On the first screen, switch Never public off.
Confirm Allow publishing. You can then make the strategy public or Premium.

On a strategy that is already public or Premium, the switch stays off until you set its access to Private on the Who can copy it step. It reads Set access to Private first.
