Notifications
Where Nyria tells you a trade failed, a broker went stale, or a strategy went quiet, and how to control which of those reach your inbox.
Nyria raises a notification whenever something happens that you would want to know about without going looking for it: a bot log that needs your attention, a broker connection that has stopped working, or a strategy that has gone silent.
Every notification is recorded in the app. Depending on your preferences it is also pushed to you live and emailed to you.
Notifications are a convenience, not a guarantee of delivery. Email can be delayed, filtered, or rejected by your provider. They do not replace the daily position checks described in Known Limitations.
Where to find them
The bell in the app header shows your unread count and opens a popover with the most recent notifications. It has a Mark all as read action and a View all notifications link.
The Notifications page (/notifications in the app) is the full history. It gives you:
- A category filter: All, Trade alerts, Subscriptions, System, Brokers
- A Live / Paper filter, so you can look at only your live bots' activity and ignore paper noise. Notifications raised by a bot are tagged with the account type of the integration behind that bot
- An Unread only toggle
- Mark all as read
Clicking a notification takes you to what it is about: the bot's log tab with the row expanded, the strategy's log tab, or the relevant settings page.
Categories
There are five categories. Each one is toggled independently, and each has a separate In-app and Email switch.

Trade alerts, Broker connections, and System announcements are the categories in active use today. The Subscription and Social toggles and filters exist, but Nyria does not currently raise notifications in those categories.
Trade-failure notifications arrive as Trade alerts, and they only fire for failures the executing bot flags as worth surfacing. Turning that category's email off is the single easiest way to miss a failed order. Leave it on.
Not every failure raises a notification. Some brokers accept an order and reject it tens of seconds later. Nyria polls for those and records the result in the bot's log, but that path does not raise a notification or send an email. An empty bell is not proof that nothing failed. Read the bot logs on any day you expected a fill. When an Order Fails sets out the full picture.
Preferences
Notification preferences live on the Account page in the app, under Notification preferences.
Four of the five categories have switches there. Each one has two:
- In-app notifications: whether it appears in the bell and streams to an open tab
- Email notifications: whether it is also emailed to you
Defaults for a new account:

Social activity has no switch on the Account page. It is off for both in-app and email, and nothing raises it today.
Turning a category off stops future notifications in that channel. It does not delete anything already recorded.
Email behaviour
- Every notification email carries a one-click unsubscribe link and the matching
List-Unsubscribeheaders, so your mail client's own Unsubscribe button works. Using either one turns off email for that one category and leaves the others, and the in-app notifications, untouched - Emails are throttled to one per category per minute. A burst of failures from the same bot will not send you a wall of mail. The in-app notifications are all still recorded, so open the Notifications page to see the full run
- An identical notification for the same source repeated inside a one-minute window is dropped entirely, so a retry loop cannot spam you
Recommended setup
For anyone trading live:
- Leave Trade alerts on for both in-app and email
- Leave Broker connections on for both. A stale connection stops your bots silently
- Leave System announcements on for email so you see the strategy-quiet warning
- Check the Notifications page with the Live filter as part of your daily position check

Close a Position
