Strategy notes
Keep a strategy's Pine script, TradingView settings, backtest results and alert setup in a private Notes tab that only the strategy's owner opens.
Every strategy has a Notes tab. It is for the owner. Anyone else who opens the tab sees Only the owner can see this.
Notes don't change how alerts are read or how bots trade.
Add a note
Note types
| Type | For | The box holds |
|---|---|---|
| Note | Anything in plain words | Markdown |
| Script | The Pine script | The code, with a Copy button on the card |
| Settings | The TradingView settings the strategy runs on | Optional markdown |
| Backtest | Your own record of a test run | Optional markdown |
| Alert | How the TradingView alert is set up | Optional markdown |
A Backtest note is a record for you. To show a backtest on the strategy page, upload it.
Fill in the cards
Script, Settings, Backtest and Alert entries have an Advanced section with a Meta (JSON) box. It starts with the keys the tab reads for that type. Fill in what you have and the card lays it out.
| Type | Keys |
|---|---|
| Script | version, pine_version, script_name, sha256 |
| Settings | symbol, exchange, timeframe, session, extended_hours, inputs, properties |
| Backtest | run_id, symbol, timeframe, window, split, fills, net_pct, max_dd_pct, win_pct, trades, profit_factor, trades_per_day, sharpe, equity_r2, screenshot_url |
| Alert | tv_account, chart_url, condition, trigger_mode, interval, expiration, message, webhook |
Meta must be a JSON object. A key left empty is left off the card.
Keep it tidy
- Pin to top holds an entry above the rest.
- Edit changes an entry. Its type stays as it was.
- Delete removes one after a confirmation that names it.
Webhook URLs stay out
A note can't hold your strategy's webhook URL or token. Saving one that does fails with Notes can't hold a webhook URL or token. Keep the alert message and settings here, and the URL on the strategy's Integration tab. See TradingView alerts.
Add the script when you create the strategy
On the first screen of Create strategy, a TradingView strategy has a Script row. Paste the Pine code there and it's saved as a Script entry titled Pine script in the new strategy's Notes.
Next steps
Add a TradingView backtest to your strategy
Export the List of trades from TradingView's Strategy Tester, upload it to a Nyria strategy, choose public or private, and read the Backtest section.
Timeframe and Never public
Label a strategy with the chart timeframe it trades on, and keep one private for good with Never public.
