Alpaca

The Alpaca setup guide has every step to connect.

Order types

Market and limit orders, for entries and exits. A spread goes as one order for all its legs: at a limit, it's priced as a net debit or credit. Nyria doesn't place stop or stop-limit orders. Exits come from exit alerts.

Stock orders take the strategy's Duration as set: Day, Good till canceled or Fill or kill. Alpaca takes option orders as Day only and crypto orders as Good till canceled, so Nyria sends those whatever the strategy is set to.

Position sizing

• Stocks: whole shares
• Crypto: fractional quantities. A $100 entry with BTC at $64,000 buys 0.00156 BTC.

Margin

Alpaca offers cash and margin accounts and sets the margin rules. Leave buying power for exits as well as entries.

Limitations

• US equities only (no international stocks)

Troubleshooting

"Symbol not found"

Alpaca doesn't trade that symbol. Check the spelling, and check Alpaca lists it as tradable: some OTC stocks aren't.

"Market closed"

Alpaca restricts some order types outside market hours. Turn on Limit trading hours on the strategy to keep entries inside them.
